ZIMO Decoder Interface Options

The NMRA has developed Recommended Practice 9.1.1 - DCC Electrical Interface & Wire Color Code that is used by ZIMO to insure consistent application of the many decoder electrical interface connector types in use today.

ZIMO employs a standard nomenclature for naming products that indicates the type of connector used.

MX _  _  _ - Decoder format/series

The suffix applied to the series name indicates the connector style.

 [blank] - Hardwire - 7, 9, 11 (depending on decoder type) single wires with free ends (120 mm long). 


 [R] - NEM652 NMRA 8-pin - 8 pin plug to NEM652 standard (i.e. "medium interface" as specified in NMRA 9.1.1) on 70 mm long wires.

 [F] - NEM651 NMRA 6-pin with harness - 6-pin plug to NEM651 standard (i.e. "small interface" as specified in NMRA 9.1.1) on 70 mm long wires.

 [N] - NEM651 Direct NMRA 6-pin without harness - 6-pin direct plug to NEM651 standard (i.e.  "small interface" as specified in  NMRA) directly on decoder.
